The NYMR provides a complete service, and our professional staff will guide you through the organisation of your event.
There are carriages that you can hire for your exclusive use for private functions and parties. Whether you would like to host a family celebration, a business meeting or a wedding reception, there is something to suit the occasion. A welcoming Champagne reception can be arranged for your party and all private charters can be tailored to suit your specific requirements.
With a seating capacity of up to 130, Dining Trains can be chartered for private functions and celebrations and we pride ourselves on providing a first class service tailored to suit your requirements.
Our professional catering staff will be able to advise and assist with menu selections and can provide any extra special requirements that you would like.

Dining Carriages
Car 79
Originally built in 1928, to form part of the Queen of Scots Pullman, this carriage is decorated in traditional Pullman style with luxurious upholstered seats, exquisite marquetry decorated panelling, with brass fixtures and fittings. Seating capacity 30.
Robin
A 1961 Pullman dining car complete with full kitchen facilities. Exhibiting the traditional Pullman Livery of umber and cream, the interior is finished with blue upholstery, floor covering and décor. Seating capacity 26.
Restaurant First
This first-class restaurant car was built in 1961 and was used by British Railways on the West Coast Main Line. The exterior is painted in the Pullman Livery, with an attractive burgundy interior complete with wood panelling. Seating capacity 24.
Opal
Named after the precious stone, this Pullman First Parlour car was designed and built in 1960. Carefully restored in the Pullman livery, the interior is completed with blue upholstery, floor covering and décor. Seating capacity 29
Complete Dining Train
The full selection of these beautifully restored dining cars can be chartered for your private use. Total seating capacity 109.
Saloons
Great Western Saloon
Originally built in 1948, this Inspection Saloon is divided into two seating compartments complete with observation windows and comfortable blue and cream lounge seating. The car is self-contained and complete with a kitchen, lavatory and Guard’s compartment. Available for private functions, meetings and celebrations. This carriage can either be specially chartered or attached to a service train. Seating capacity 24.
Gresley buffet
This stylish Art Deco buffet coach was built in 1937 for the London and North Eastern Railway. The interior is blue and grey with chrome fixtures, tables, chairs and fittings. The seating capacity is limited to 24 people. The coach has a light roomy feel and has a bar and kitchen. The exterior is of traditional LNER varnished teak.

Complete listings of menus and wine lists are included with this pack. All menus can be tailored to meet your individual requirements. We will be happy to discuss arrangements with you to make your event an unforgettable success. Champagne Receptions
A welcoming reception can be arranged for your party before travelling on the train. Receptions can be tailored to meet your requirements. Please call Customer Services on 01751 472508.
All Charter trains can be tailored to meet your requirements. Catering vehicles can be attached to scheduled services (where feasible) or run as special trains, subject to timetable limitations.
**Terms and Conditions**
Advance booking is essential on all dining services and reservations can be made by telephone on 01751 472508.
Full payment is required by Credit/Debit card at the time of booking or by cheque within 7 days to confirm your reaervation. If payment is not received within this time, your tickets may be offered for resale.
Due to popularity of these services, tables for 2 may become fully booked. If no tables for 2 are available, diners may have exclusive use of a table for 4 by paying a supplement of £16 per unused seat.
A £5 administration fee will be charged for any amendments/cancellations.
Prices include travel, seat reservation, meal and VAT.
Most major credit cards are accepted.
Due to the historic nature of the carriages we regret that there is no access for wheelchairs.
Guide Dogs are permitted to travel on dining services.
