The North Yorkshire Moors Railway is the country’s most popular heritage railway. The 18-mile line runs through the beautiful North York Moors National Park, between the market town of Pickering and the village of Grosmont.
Pickering Station
Was restored to its 1937 condition with help from the Heritage Lottery Fund. Original features and fittings have been installed in the Booking and Parcels (Customer Services) Offices,Tea Room,
and the shop which provides a wide range of gifts, books and videos.
Levisham Station
Is set in the scenic Newton Dale. This is an ideal stop for walking the local area with a wide variety of wildlife and flowers within a short distance of the station.
Newton Dale Halt
Is a walkers’ request stop with excellent walks and beautiful scenery.
Goathland Station
Famous as Aidensfield and Hogsmeade, has a refurbished Warehouse Tea Room with authentic furniture and artefacts.
Restored coal drops and a cattle dock.
Grosmont Station
Is the terminus for NYMR and houses our locomotive sheds, tearoom and two shops with many interesting items available. The
station has been restored to the British Railways’ style of the 1960s.
